I’m so glad you’ve found your way to my page. I want to tell you a little about who I am and what I’m about, so you know what you’re getting yourself into here.

If we haven’t met, my name is Jessica Knight. I make art. I write. I read tarot and am creating a tarot deck called The Otherlings Tarot! I’m a curious seeker of the weird and wondrous, endlessly inspired by the ineffable. I create to get closer to it.

Art happened upon me in a strange way. There was a long drought, and to this day I couldn’t tell you what broke the dam. I just know it did. Then came the flood, and on its white water: the desire to make. If that sounds mysterious, it was! And, exploring this sort of mystery is what I’m on Substack to do, so if you’d like to hear more about it- you’re in the right place.

I’ll be sharing a monthly newsletter here, which will always be free. I plan to find my rhythm on this platform first, and see what else wants to come through week to week. I may introduce a paid tier later on. For now, you can expect exploratory questions, poetry, writings on art, creativity, emotion, spirituality, nature, life in this brilliant, troubling era and more. I’ve been writing on instagram for some years now, so I will bring some of those older posts onto here too. I’m looking forward to sharing what fills me up, as well, from favorite thinkers to cherished plant friends.
